This project challenged my Adobe Premier and After Effects knowledge by designing as well as producing a title sequence for either an existing or made up TV series. After research, I chose to make my own which gave me more creative freedom, settling on an 80’s Cop/Detective show. The appearance was heavily inspired by the pop-culture aesthetic, Vapourwave, with concepts like driving cars and striking colours that seemed to pair quite well.
Despite a limited time frame, the more open choice allowed me to go crazy on the After Effects skills, applying grainy textures and warping the footage to look like a VHS tape being played on an 80’s CRT TV. Characters and backgrounds were made with a combination of photoshop and procreate.

Practice made me accustomed to jotting down thoughts and ideas onto storyboards. This helped understand pieces of the animation such as the duration of each shot or where titles might go.
